Spaces in Wildnotes Choir

There are a few spaces available in Jenny’s regular weekly choir, Wildnotes.

Wildnotes is an open access acapella choir. This means there are no auditions and all songs are taught by ear (there is no written music). We learn unaccompanied, harmony songs from different World, Roots and Folk music traditions plus original material with a smattering of Jazz, Blues and Pop numbers thrown in now and again.

There are around 40 people in the choir across all ages – some people have been attending for some time but we welcome new members and aim to make you feel part of the “singing tribe” as soon as possible.

Our overall theme this year is Songs to Change the World. This term we will be  learning songs for Sing for Water – this is to raise money for the charity Water Aid. Songs will be gleaned from the repertoire of Sing for Water London over the last 10 years, with a few others added.

So term will complete with a fund-raising performance on 8th December 2011 (watch this space). You don’t have to take part in the performance to take part in the term/choir.

Autumn term dates are Sept 22nd – Dec 1st  with NO session on October 27th (half term).

All sessions will be at the Lawrence Batley Theatre except for Thursday 29th September which will be at Hoot.  Sessions run from 7.30 to 9.30 pm.

The cost is £66/£33 (concession) for the term. You can pay  in half term blocks if that makes the finances easier. As a new member you can attend the first session for free – then if you want to go ahead and sign up you pay  for the term at that point.

If you are interested  email singing.jennyg@googlemail.com  or phone Jenny on 07984 584923.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
